When the air outside is worse than inside.

What to do

Practical steps, not panic.

  1. 1 Close windows and any trickle vents you can control; upgrade to external-door seals if you live near a main road.
  2. 2 Run a HEPA purifier in the room you occupy; re-check the filter date — an expired filter is worse than none.
  3. 3 Avoid outdoor exercise and postpone ventilating the home until AQI drops; Envora will tell you when.
  4. 4 If you use MVHR, it will usually include filtration — check the grade, and keep up with replacements.
  5. 5 After the event passes, reverse: open windows wide to accelerate the clear, and watch Envora return to baseline.
