All solutions
Home Kitchens, bedrooms, nurseries, basements. Envora shows you what you breathe — and tells you how to fix it, usually for free. Office & Co-work CO₂ is the single strongest environmental lever on office productivity — and the cheapest to fix. Envora gives facilities teams and founders the number to argue with. CO₂ and indoor air quality monitoring for schools Classroom CO₂ and indoor air quality evidence for better ventilation decisions, measurable cognitive lift, and the data trail governors and parents want. Labs & Clinics Envora One is precise enough for laboratories, clinics and regulated spaces, and comes with a signed calibration certificate per device ID. Studios & Gyms Hot yoga, spin, HIIT and small studios generate extreme humidity and CO₂ loads. Envora tells you how your ventilation is holding up — live, per-room, per-class. Podcasts & Studios Envora flags the HVAC hum, the fridge compressor, the neighbour's drill — and the concentration drift that flattens your delivery — before the tape picks any of it up. Landlords & Letting Continuous, timestamped indoor air quality records for every unit you manage — so damp disputes end in data, not arguments.

Temperature & Humidity T · RH

The foundation of every other reading. Humidity drives mould risk; temperature shapes sleep.

T · RH
°C · %RH
Why it matters

Comfort is a range, not a number.

Humidity below 30% dries mucous membranes; above 60% it accelerates dust-mite and mould growth. The ASHRAE comfort envelope is 30–60% at 20–24 °C — Envora draws the envelope on your dashboard so you can see when you step outside it.

How Envora measures it

Built around Digital capacitive · Bosch BME690.

Envora uses the Bosch BME690 — the same digital climate-and-gas module that drives the pressure and VOC/IAQ channels. Temperature and humidity are read with factory calibration, self-heating compensated, and contribute to the fused IAQ score alongside gases and particulates.

Two channels, one foundation. Temperature shapes comfort, productivity and sleep; humidity drives mould risk, dust mite proliferation and viral persistence.

Temperature · °C
< 16 °C risk

Increased respiratory illness in vulnerable groups; cardiovascular strain.

— UKHSA Cold Weather Plan

16–18 °C caution

PHE acceptable lower bound for vulnerable occupants. Heating recommended.

— UKHSA

18–20 °C note

PHE recommended winter daytime minimum.

— UKHSA

20–22 °C safe

ASHRAE 55 winter comfort lower bound.

— ASHRAE 55

22–24 °C safe

ASHRAE 55 comfort centre. Optimal for sedentary work.

— ASHRAE 55

24–26 °C note

ASHRAE 55 summer upper bound. Slight discomfort builds for concentration tasks.

— ASHRAE 55

26–28 °C caution

Office productivity drops ~2% per °C above 25 °C.

— Seppanen et al., 2006

28–30 °C risk

Cognitive decline; impaired short-term memory and reaction time.

— Hancock & Vasmatzidis, 2003

30+ °C severe

Heat strain; hyperthermia risk in absence of cooling.

— WHO Heat-Health Action

Humidity · %RH
< 20% RH risk

Dries mucous membranes; viral particle survival increases. Static electricity.

— Sterling et al., 1985

20–30% RH caution

Dry. Eye and skin irritation; scratchy throats common.

— Sterling chart

30–40% RH note

Acceptable lower. Common during winter heating.

— ASHRAE 55

40–60% RH safe

Optimal range. Minimises mould, dust mite, virus persistence and respiratory irritation.

— Sterling 1985 · WHO

60–70% RH note

Acceptable upper. Comfort still good.

— ASHRAE 55

70–80% RH caution

Mould growth threshold on cool surfaces. Watch bathroom and bedroom corners.

— BS 5250

80–90% RH risk

Mould proliferation; dust mite optimum. Persistent condensation likely.

— WHO Indoor Air Quality

> 90% RH severe

Persistent condensation. Rapid microbial and mould growth on surfaces.

— BS 5250

What to do

Practical steps, not panic.

  • In winter, humidity drops fast — a small bedside humidifier at 40% can end morning sore throats.
  • Above 65% in a bathroom after a shower, run the extractor for 15 minutes.
  • Set Envora to alert when a bedroom drops below 18 °C at night — a strong predictor of restless sleep.
